Digital solutions, cross-platform marketing, and content for healthcare provider

case study

Valley Presbyterian Hospital is one of the largest independent, non-profit community hospitals in the Los Angeles area, with about 2,000 employees. Initiatives for internal communication, employee recruitment, philanthropic fundraising, and patient education and awareness include: (1) website strategy, design, integrations, compliance, and analytics, (2) managing requests for proposals (RFPs) for services and apps, (3) assessments and gap analyses with solutions guidance, (4) and developing and producing content for internal and culturally diverse external D2C and B2B audiences.

website strategy, design, Saas integrations, compliance and analytics

I have worked closely with executives and cross-functional teams on multiple enterprise-level websites and portals/apps incorporating technology upgrades, branding, UX/UI, content migration, organic SEO, HIPAA and ADA compliance, and analytics. Several apps for physician referrals, donations, ADA compliance, and registrations are shown below. RESULT: The website redesigns and portal/app upgrades have exceeded and met goals for up-to-date technology, security, content engagement, compliance and other criteria.

I also recommended and executed a new careers recruitment micro-site. Hands-on work included initial designs/wire framing, content writing, SEO, visuals, branded job portal integration, beta testing, and recruitment video production, shown below. RESULT: The new website streamlined the job search process and provided career-focused, mobile-friendly content for attracting and recruiting new employees.

strategy and implementation of internal intranet system and employee training

An outdated intranet system was no longer a viable tool for internal communication, collaboration, and document management. Working with the Chief Information Officer, I conducted a comprehensive employee and executive assessment, and a vendor RFP process with cost, compliance, and technical considerations. Result: A user-friendly solution was implemented that has improved employee engagement, provides more efficient workflow and productivity, and fosters up-to-date information-sharing.

Additionally, I produced tutorial videos for the hospital’s education team that instructs nurses on how to use equipment and its software. Result: The videos reduced in-person training on the devices and have allowed staff to access the video instructions 24/7.

development of educational content and app support for patient classes

As a community-based hospital, VPH is committed to preventative health care. To further that goal, I developed Health & Wellness content for the website, and worked closely with the marketing/community teams on the launch of a new portal for class registrations. RESULT: The content has enhanced community health education. The new classes portal has improved user experience, reduced the time it takes to register, and provides a more efficient platform for the teams.
